Base Salary
$146k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test embedded C software for safety-critical multicore automotive microcontrollers across RTOS, drivers, scheduling, bootloaders, middleware, and application components.
- Integrate Nuro Driver with new vehicle platforms through CAN and Ethernet interfaces, actuator and body-control interfaces, and bench and in-vehicle validation.
- Perform hands-on device and vehicle bring-up, prototyping, and debugging across multiple vehicle platforms.
- Build and maintain verification infrastructure, including unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop benches, and vehicle test procedures.
- Define software requirements from system safety requirements and implement and verify them with full traceability within an ISO 26262 process.
- Collaborate with systems, safety, hardware, controls, autonomy, OEM, and supplier engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 2 years of industry experience developing embedded software in C, including work with a real-time operating system.
- Strong foundations in data structures, concurrency, and algorithm design.
- Working knowledge of microcontroller internals and peripherals, with depth in device drivers, CAN or automotive Ethernet, bootloaders and software updates, embedded security, or vehicle-level integration and testing.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, written communication, spoken communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
- Comfort working with debug probes, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and CAN tools.
- Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of automotive or autonomous-vehicle embedded development, production-launch experience, ISO 26262 or other regulated safety-critical development, and experience with Infineon AURIX TC3xx, SafeRTOS, FreeRTOS, AUTOSAR Classic, MCAL, communication stacks, DBC, ARXML, UDS diagnostics, E2E protection, or time synchronization.
