Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of new features for the Freetrade iOS app.
- Improve and maintain app performance, quality, security, robustness, architecture, and developer experience.
- Own features end to end while collaborating with backend, design, product, and QE teams.
- Maintain a high bar for code quality through hands-on development, code reviews, and testing.
- Resolve complex issues, address bottlenecks, reduce technical debt, and improve engineering standards and practices.
- Mentor and support junior engineers on design, implementation, and best practices.
- Participate in a support rota, including resolving customer issues and communicating directly with customers when needed.
Requirements
- Typically 6+ years of experience building production-grade mobile applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead technical decisions and deliver complex features.
- Deep understanding of iOS architecture and common patterns.
- Strong experience with Swift, dependency-injection frameworks, and SwiftUI.
- Good understanding of GraphQL and integration with backend services.
- Experience with Combine, Swift Concurrency, or RxSwift.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices.
- Understanding of continuous integration and build tooling such as CircleCI.
- Experience mentoring and growing more junior engineers.
