Base Salary
$220k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Engineer agent harnesses that connect AI models with environments and tools to perform valuable work for users.
- Advance AI capabilities across multiple layers of Perplexity’s agent products.
- Develop and leverage AI models, infrastructure, and browser technologies while scaling capabilities for a growing user base.
- Improve AI agent performance and user experience quality.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, data scientists, and other teams to integrate Perplexity functionality into agentic products.
- Contribute to product reliability, code quality, AI evaluation, testing, and maintenance.
Requirements
- Strong foundational familiarity with the full AI product stack.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Significant experience in context engineering and tool interfaces for frontier AI models, post-training and reinforcement learning, browser technologies, or a related listed area.
- Experience with TypeScript, Go, and/or Rust is a bonus.
- Strong product intuition and a focus on excellent user experiences.
- Ability to work effectively on a small, fast-moving team and take ownership.
- Passion for shipping products that delight users.
