Responsibilities
- Design and maintain internal AI orchestration layers, centralized API gateways, reusable frameworks, advanced RAG architectures, and agentic frameworks.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate production-ready generative AI and machine learning features into the Actian Data Intelligence Platform.
- Establish LLMOps and governance infrastructure, including guardrails, evaluation frameworks, monitoring, and controls for model performance, bias, privacy, and security.
- Monitor and optimize cloud and API compute costs, token usage, model selection, and execution latency.
- Lead workshops, create technical blueprints and documentation, and enable non-AI engineering teams to build and maintain AI features.
- Drive AI proof-of-concepts from rapid prototype through scalable, production-grade implementation.
- Define and enforce the organization’s AI technology stack, including vector databases, embeddings strategies, and semantic caching.
- Evaluate AI model providers, manage technical vendor relationships, and assess open-source models.
- Define and track operational metrics such as developer adoption, time-to-market improvements, and return on investment.
Requirements
- Strong background as a Senior AI/ML Engineer, LLMOps Engineer, or Software Architect who has built and scaled AI-powered applications in enterprise SaaS or complex data platforms.
- Deep expertise in Python or Go, semantic search, vector databases such as Pinecone, Milvus, and pgvector, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex.
- Experience with fine-tuning or prompt engineering for state-of-the-art large language models.
- Understanding of software engineering practices including unit testing for AI, evaluation datasets, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and clean code architecture.
- Ability to lead through influence, align engineering teams around a shared technical vision, and operate with high ownership.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, including the ability to explain complex AI architectures and anomalies to stakeholders and executives.
