Responsibilities
- Customize and optimize Linux distributions for NVIDIA Jetson-based compute platforms for performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
- Configure and integrate Jetson systems from bootloaders through kernel modules to meet hardware and software requirements.
- Design and implement OTA update infrastructure with rollback, delta updates, and failure recovery.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers on board bring-up, driver integration, and hardware-software performance optimization.
- Build hardware-in-the-loop test automation, on-device logging and diagnostics, and fleet health monitoring.
- Create developer tooling and workflows for AI and robotics engineers to build, test, and deploy platform software.
- Implement secure boot, device authentication, software lockdown, and other embedded-system security measures.
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of experience in embedded Linux development or platform engineering.
- Deep knowledge of Linux system internals, including kernel configuration, device drivers, boot processes, and system services.
- Strong C/C++ and Python skills.
- Experience working with embedded hardware platforms and debugging from bootloader through the application layer.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex problems, and operate in ambiguous environments.
- Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Preferred experience includes NVIDIA Jetson platforms, OTA update systems, remote device management, consumer electronics, robotics, IoT devices, Docker, orchestration, edge computing frameworks, real-time systems, RTOS, custom Linux distributions, BSP development, power management, thermal considerations, and hardware constraints.
