Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of major platform initiatives from design through deployment and post-launch success.
- Build and operate Kubernetes clusters, including networking, operators, container lifecycles, and multi-tenant orchestration.
- Design, develop, and optimize distributed services and cloud-native infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP.
- Develop APIs, backend services, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling.
- Drive code quality, design reviews, automation, and CI/CD engineering practices.
- Collaborate with Product, AI, and Security teams to align architecture with business objectives.
- Mentor engineers and guide architecture decisions, trade-offs, and delivery.
- Partner with leadership on engineering strategy, product objectives, and technical roadmaps.
Requirements
- 9+ years of software engineering experience with a deep backend and infrastructure focus.
- Strong production programming skills in Python and/or Go.
- Deep hands-on experience building and operating Kubernetes clusters.
- Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems in production.
- Cloud-native experience across AWS and/or GCP, including compute, storage, IAM, networking, and managed services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or a similar tool and with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with applied AI tooling and patterns, including Claude, LiteLLM, AI gateways, and agent frameworks.
- Ability to build backend services that integrate with applied AI tools.
- Strong system design and architectural judgment.
- Clear communication and effective collaboration with product, security, and AI teams.
- Preferred: experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
- Preferred: multi-cloud or hybrid infrastructure experience across AWS, GCP, and on-premises environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with API gateways, AI gateways, ABAC, and OPA.
- Preferred: service mesh or platform-as-a-service design experience.
- Preferred: a track record of improving engineering productivity at scale.
