Base Salary

$150k - $165k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the correctness, idempotency, auditability, and end-to-end data integrity of money movement, billing, reconciliation, batch processing, and statements.
  • Lead payment integrations involving card-present terminals, online payments, tokenization, cards on file, third-party processors, and financing partners.
  • Drive real-time electronic healthcare claims engineering, including submission, retries, response parsing, error handling, and integration with a national claims network.
  • Translate regulatory and fee-schedule changes into correct, well-tested product behavior in partnership with product and compliance.
  • Modernize legacy native C++ modules and the C++/CLI interop layer toward a managed, layered C# architecture.
  • Improve performance, reliability, telemetry, and production troubleshooting for financial and claims workflows.
  • Set testing strategy using dependency injection, clean seams, and unit testing; maintain architectural guardrails across projects and packages.
  • Build cross-team six- to twelve-month roadmaps, sequence work, mentor engineers, and contribute through design, pairing, and code reviews.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years building Windows desktop and backend enterprise applications in C#/.NET and C++, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated staff-level technical leadership, including architecture ownership, cross-team influence, and raising engineering standards.
  • Experience with object-oriented design, SOLID, clean and layered architecture, MVVM, dependency injection, and unit testing.
  • Background in transactional or financial systems where correctness and auditability are essential.
  • Comfort working across native and managed code, including C++/CLI or P/Invoke interop between older C++ and newer C#.
  • Strong experience with relational or embedded data stores such as FairCom c-treeACE or SQL Server and evolving legacy data models safely.
  • Experience building cross-team roadmaps, estimating work over six- to twelve-month horizons, and working in an agile environment.
  • Strong production debugging skills for integration-heavy systems involving financial transactions and third-party APIs.
  • Clear communication, mentoring ability, and collaborative work across engineering, QA, support, product, and compliance.
  • Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, prior team or technical lead experience, dental or healthcare claims experience, payments and PCI-minded engineering experience, legacy Win32 or MFC modernization, FairCom c-treeACE or CodeBase/DBF migration experience, Crystal Reports experience, analytics instrumentation, and BDD exposure.
