Base Salary
$168k - $227k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate Python AWS Lambda API domains and event-driven workers.
- Own DynamoDB data models and OpenSearch indexing, including keys, GSIs, and cursor-paginated queries.
- Extend the V3 role-based access-control model and manage IAM roles, policies, Bindle access controls, and permission boundaries.
- Implement Lambda definitions, IAM grants, environment variables, API Gateway routes, and pipeline stages through the TypeScript AWS CDK package.
- Lead and participate in security reviews across infrastructure and application layers.
- Write unit and integration tests, maintain code quality, and participate in code reviews.
- Support deployments, monitoring, and on-call operations from alpha through production.
- Collaborate with frontend and infrastructure partners on location tracking, geofencing, and device-transfer features.
Requirements
- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 7+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- 5+ years leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Professional experience with Python and production backend services.
- Experience with AWS serverless services including Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and IAM.
- Experience designing REST APIs, data models, and automated tests.
- Experience writing clean, maintainable code and reasoning about security and access control.
- Preferred: 7+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: a master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: 1+ years of continuous integration and continuous delivery experience or AWS Professional-level certification.
- Preferred: experience with aws-lambda-powertools, pydantic, boto3, OpenSearch or Elasticsearch, NoSQL data modeling, role-based access control, and multi-tenant or program-scoped authorization.
- Preferred: familiarity with Amazon internal build and deployment systems including Brazil, Apollo, Pipelines, and CRUX.
- Candidates must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, refugees, or asylees due to export control requirements.
