Responsibilities
- Manage reviews of classical and modern SAP ABAP objects, including reports, enhancements, interfaces, forms, ABAP Objects, CDS, AMDP, and OData services.
- Analyze ABAP and HANA performance using ST05, SAT, SQL Monitor, runtime analysis, and HANA-aware coding principles.
- Review Open SQL, code pushdown, CDS associations and annotations, DCL, AMDP, and database access patterns for performance, security, and maintainability.
- Maintain evidence-based RAG ratings, technical findings, risks, dependencies, decisions, and prioritized remediation backlogs.
- Develop ECC-to-S/4HANA modernization plans covering custom-code adaptation, simplification, regression testing, and release sequencing.
- Facilitate client and systems-integrator workshops, assure code and test deliverables, prepare steering materials, and escalate material risks.
- Use SAP Generative AI and Joule for Developers for code explanation, test generation, dependency analysis, refactoring, optimization, and migration support.
- Apply human validation, confidentiality, security, bias awareness, traceability, and compliance controls to AI-assisted outputs.
- Coach team members, own delivery outcomes, and support programme assurance, stabilization, remediation governance, and recovery execution.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of relevant experience is required, with typical experience of 10–14 years in SAP ABAP and enterprise application delivery.
- Required expertise in SAP ABAP Development for HANA, classical ABAP, ABAP Objects, modern Open SQL, CDS views, AMDP, performance tuning, and SAP S/4HANA custom-code adaptation.
- Experience with RICEFW objects, DDIC, reports, module pools, enhancements, BAdIs, SmartForms or Adobe Forms, IDoc, BAPI, RFC, ALE, background jobs, locking, and update tasks.
- Experience with code pushdown, CDS associations and annotations, DCL, analytical models, AMDP trade-offs, HANA SQL, ST05, SAT, SQL Monitor, and runtime tools.
- Experience with ATC, SCI, CVA, Clean ABAP, secure coding, automated testing, transport governance, and controlled exception management.
- Demonstrated experience in distressed programme or workstream diagnostics, stabilization, turnaround planning, remediation governance, and recovery execution.
- Strong communication, workshop facilitation, stakeholder collaboration, ownership, risk escalation, and team coaching abilities.
- Preferred experience with RAP, OData V2/V4, SAP Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP extensibility, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Cloud ALM, and CI/CD.
- Experience with SAP Generative AI, SAP Business AI, SAP Generative AI Hub, prompt engineering, grounding, orchestration, and responsible AI integration is preferred.
- Relevant SAP certifications in ABAP for SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA development, ABAP Cloud, SAP BTP, or SAP Business AI are desirable.
- Exposure to programme assurance, quality audits, commercial controls, and multi-vendor systems-integration delivery is desirable.
- A minimum of 15 years of full-time education is required.
