Responsibilities
- Build and scale recommendation and personalization systems for HBO Max, Discovery+, and other Warner Bros. Discovery offerings.
- Develop machine learning systems and operational capabilities for personalization.
- Improve the quality, stability, resilience, observability, scalability, cost efficiency, and performance of recommendation services and models.
- Collaborate with applied science, platform, content, user data, and product teams as streaming services expand globally.
- Author, test, review, and optimize production-level code using version control and code integration best practices.
- Contribute to experimentation, data-driven innovation, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot recommendation systems as frontline support.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of industry experience.
- Deep practical knowledge of the modern machine learning lifecycle.
- Practical knowledge of large-scale recommender systems or large-scale machine learning ranking, retrieval, or search systems, including familiarity with A/B testing.
- Experience building large-scale machine learning systems in production.
- Strong programming skills in Python; Java or Go experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of data fundamentals, SQL, pipelines, and feature stores.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Advanced degree such as an M.S. in statistics, computer science, machine learning, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

- Base pay range of $135,310.00 to $251,290.00 per year.
