Base Salary
$170k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own product outcomes across conception, research, implementation, and maintenance in collaboration with engineering and cross-functional partners.
- Define product strategy, frame problems, write specifications, prioritize scope, and make tradeoff decisions.
- Talk directly with customers, review support tickets, and observe how customers use Clay.
- Design and build complex full-stack features across backend and frontend systems.
- Improve product performance and reliability and increase development velocity through codebase improvements.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to the growth of the team.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of hands-on engineering experience building high-quality products.
- Experience or interest in owning products end to end, including deciding what is worth building.
- Ability to work quickly, make tradeoffs, and iterate based on customer feedback.
- Strong customer orientation and ability to communicate with technical, opinionated customers.
- Clear, empathetic communication across different levels of abstraction.
- Ability to write bug-free, understandable code and raise the engineering bar.
- Familiarity with Clay’s current technology stack or ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
- Commitment to diverse perspectives and collaborative teamwork.
