Base Salary
$149k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the reliability roadmap for major product areas and transition systems to highly available, globally scalable enterprise architectures.
- Partner with senior and principal engineers on infrastructure strategy, system design, capacity planning, and bottleneck identification.
- Maintain and improve infrastructure-as-code environments and the infrastructure-as-plugins model.
- Scale AI/ML infrastructure, including GPU resources and data pipelines for real-time supply chain insights.
- Build observability, telemetry, monitoring, alerting, and tooling that prevent production incidents.
- Perform performance engineering across SQL queries, APIs, databases, and cross-service communication.
- Use AI development tools to automate operational tasks and accelerate infrastructure delivery.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in SRE, production engineering, or backend engineering focused on operations and scale.
- Experience scaling a product through a high-growth phase and addressing related technical debt and architectural changes.
- Ability to write and review production code in Golang, TypeScript, or Python.
- Strong proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform or OpenTofu, and at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience instrumenting applications and platforms with SLO-based monitoring and alerting.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and debugging interactions among microservices, databases, and AI agents.
- Experience working with senior and Principal engineers and independently owning initiatives through implementation.
- Ability to use modern AI development tools effectively.
- Preferred: M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: PostgreSQL experience at scale, including partitioning, indexing, and query tuning.
- Preferred: advanced knowledge of microservice orchestration and durability patterns, including Temporal and Istio.
