Base Salary
$191k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, operate, and launch self-service developer onboarding experiences.
- Independently drive medium-to-large technical initiatives from ambiguous problem definition through production.
- Own a significant portion of the Developer Portal platform and serve as technical owner for the systems built.
- Extend micro-frontend and microservice infrastructure, shared UI component libraries, feature-flag-driven migrations, and versioned customer API contracts.
- Build authentication, authorization, identity-aware provisioning, session management, and credential-management capabilities.
- Partner with Product, Design, Identity, Organizations, Authorization, and Platform Engineering teams.
- Optimize time to first successful self-service onboarding and customer verification as the team’s north-star metric.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 6 years of professional software development experience building and operating production web applications; less experience may be considered for PhD or master's candidates.
- At least 3 years of experience building developer-facing platforms such as developer portals, API platforms, authentication platforms, cloud platforms, or payments platforms.
- At least 3 years of experience with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend architecture, including Next.js or similar frameworks and backend services using Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Java, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Experience with OpenAPI, docs-as-code tooling, SDK generation, micro-frontend architectures, feature-flag migrations, or independently deployed frontend applications is preferred.
- Experience implementing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, SCIM, relationship-based authorization, or policy engines is preferred.
- Experience with SpiceDB, OpenFGA, Zanzibar-inspired architectures, OPA, or Cedar is preferred.
- Familiarity with identity verification, fraud prevention, KYC/AML, regulated identity systems, and NIST 800-63 IAL/AAL guidelines is preferred.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, Java or Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Google Cloud Platform, observability platforms, and automated testing frameworks is preferred.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, Honeycomb, Prometheus, Sentry, Playwright, Jest, or Cypress is preferred.
