Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements into scalable software components and contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
- Develop modular, maintainable, performant, secure, cloud-ready Java applications and microservices.
- Design and maintain unit, functional, integration, regression, performance, deployment verification, and release tests.
- Participate in code reviews, engineering quality standards, API governance, and definition-of-done activities.
- Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, observability, operational readiness, and supportability.
- Troubleshoot application and production issues through debugging, root cause analysis, and lifecycle production support.
- Research technologies, conduct proof-of-concepts, and participate in technical experimentation.
- Orchestrate release workflows and CI/CD pipelines while tracking and improving delivery metrics.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product owners, business stakeholders, and customers to estimate, prioritize, demonstrate, and accept delivered solutions.
Requirements
- Proficiency writing secure Java code and familiarity with secure coding standards such as OWASP, CWE, and SEI CERT.
- Experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, JPA, Angular, and SQL.
- Understanding of engineering principles for mission-critical software, including security, testing, operability, service-oriented architecture, and customer experience.
- Ability to debug and analyze core, heap, and thread dumps and resolve coding errors.
- Knowledge of Gitflow, peer review, design patterns, API standards and cataloging, and service adoption practices.
- Experience with test-driven and behavior-driven development, test pyramids, contract tests, and journey tests.
- Experience using Sonar, Zally, Checkmarx, or similar tools to measure code quality and identify anti-patterns.
- Ability to define and estimate functional and non-functional requirements, including security, regulatory, performance, throughput, and SLA needs.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and industry-standard release tools such as Jenkins and XL Release.
- Ability to understand and optimize delivery metrics, document operational requirements, and support product acceptance signoffs.
- Experience leveraging AI tooling to improve software development efficiency and quality.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills with fluent English.
