Base Salary

$143k - $275k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Determine user requirements and dependencies with stakeholders and develop design documents for product areas.
  • Design, implement, and reuse code for Azure Storage products, services, and features.
  • Break down larger work items, provide estimates, and lead high-impact technical initiatives.
  • Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual on call to monitor services and address degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
  • Improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, automation, testing, deployment, and developer workflows at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Coding experience in C++, C#, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
  • Preferred: master's degree and 8+ years of experience, or bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: experience with inner development loops, build systems, compilers, pipeline and deployment troubleshooting, Microsoft Visual C++ (MSVC), Microsoft Build Engine (MSBuild), and DevOps pipelines.

Benefits

  • Base pay is listed as $142,800–$274,800 per year across the U.S.; applicable San Francisco Bay Area and New York City ranges are $188,000–$304,200 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled, with the posting open for at least five days.
