$183k - $247k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural initiatives to improve the slowest parts of the Android app, including startup and critical learning flows.
- Own and evolve performance tooling for tracing, benchmarking, and automated regression detection.
- Manage performance metrics used in experiment analyses and identify regressions across concurrent experiments.
- Partner with Client Platform and Product feature teams to interpret and act on performance data.
- Promote engineering excellence around performance and mentor engineers across experience levels.
Requirements
- Experience shipping large-scale Android applications.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving ANRs, memory leaks, dropped frames, and complex crashes.
- Strong Kotlin skills and deep familiarity with coroutines, Jetpack Compose, and modern architecture patterns.
- Experience optimizing startup time, memory, and network usage for low-memory devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for difficult technical challenges.
- Preferred: expertise with AndroidX Tracing Library and Perfetto, plus experience with Sentry and Android Vitals.
