Responsibilities
- Design, build, document, and maintain high-quality APIs for digital wealth management and quantitative investment advice capabilities.
- Maintain and extend backend services and microservices while improving modularity, reliability, scalability, and operational resilience.
- Drive API lifecycle management, including versioning, contract design, backward compatibility, authentication, documentation, and partner integration quality.
- Evaluate and improve application and platform architectures with emphasis on maintainability, scalability, security, and operational resilience.
- Support Azure cloud-native deployments using Docker-based services, Kubernetes/AKS workloads, Helm deployments, and operational runbooks.
- Strengthen GitHub Actions-based delivery and DevOps practices through repeatable deployments, automated quality gates, and secure software delivery.
- Contribute to DevSecOps improvements including dependency management, vulnerability remediation, security scanning, container image hygiene, and secure configuration.
- Improve automated API, integration, end-to-end, performance, regression, and other functional and non-functional testing.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, analyze performance bottlenecks, improve monitoring, and contribute to root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Support platform integrations and cloud services including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, and Redis.
- Collaborate with engineers, investment professionals, product owners, business stakeholders, and technology teams to translate business needs into maintainable software solutions.
- Improve platform automation, documentation, observability, deployment reliability, and operational readiness.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in software development, ideally in backend, API, cloud-native, or platform engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing APIs, including lifecycle management, versioning, contract design, backward compatibility, authentication, authorization, and documentation.
- Good understanding of microservices architecture, service boundaries, resilience, observability, service-to-service communication, and data ownership.
- Hands-on experience with at least one modern programming language, ideally Python or C#.
- Good knowledge of cloud-native application development, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes; Azure Kubernetes Service and Helm experience are strong advantages.
- Practical experience with delivery pipelines and DevOps practices; GitHub Actions experience is preferred and DevSecOps exposure is highly beneficial.
- Understanding of testing strategies for production systems, including unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, performance, and non-functional test automation.
- Experience improving production systems through scalability, performance, monitoring, incident troubleshooting, vulnerability remediation, and operational reliability.
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, relational databases, and NoSQL or cache technologies such as Redis is beneficial.
- Awareness of secure software development, vulnerability management, and secure-by-design engineering principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and pragmatic decision-making skills.
- Comfort working with production issues and supporting day-to-day platform operations.
- Interest in investment technology, quantitative methods, optimization, analytics, AI-assisted software development, agentic AI systems, or portfolio construction is a plus; prior finance experience is not required.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
