Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and address technical questions.
- Provide technical guidance to developers, contribute to architectural decisions, and improve engineering practices.
- Break down technical work into actionable tasks aligned with project deadlines and business objectives.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable front-end and back-end applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using unit testing and modern software engineering practices.
- Participate in code reviews and uphold software quality standards.
- Own complex technical challenges from discovery through delivery while balancing maintainability, performance, security, and business value.
- Develop and maintain application features focused on scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA Engineers, business stakeholders, and other Software Developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems for stability and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience with C# and .NET development across web and/or desktop applications.
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, relational database design, stored procedures, and T-SQL.
- Experience developing HTTP APIs and service-oriented or distributed systems.
- Experience with message queues, service buses, asynchronous processing, or event-driven architectures.
- Experience writing unit tests and working within Agile software development teams.
- Preferred experience in payments, foreign exchange, fintech, banking, or regulated financial services.
- Preferred experience modernizing applications built with VB.NET, VB6, or older .NET Framework technologies.
- Preferred experience with React, Blazor, third-party platform integrations, performance tuning, monitoring, observability, and production support.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and work through ambiguity, define scope, and estimate delivery timelines.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, commitment to reliable and scalable software, and willingness to continuously learn and adopt new technologies.
