Sr. Software Developer in Test
Align TechnologyResponsibilities
- Collaborate with clinical experts, project managers, product owners, and software developers to analyze specifications and deliver detailed requirements.
- Develop functional, regression, performance, integration, exploratory, and automated testing solutions.
- Write and review automated tests and support software developers in creating tests early in the development process.
- Troubleshoot, triage, and investigate manually reported problems and feedback.
- Lead QA for releases involving multiple teams by preparing test strategies and risk assessments, reviewing plans and coverage, overseeing execution, and maintaining documentation.
- Set up, maintain, and improve reliable test environments, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and testing practices.
- Research new testing tools, methodologies, and trends and collaborate across teams to improve QA standards.
- Contribute to documentation, architecture, project planning, sizing, release preparation, software verification, test coverage, maintenance, and production support.
Requirements
- Bachelor ’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in commercial software development.
- 8+ years of professional experience in similar positions in an enterprise or commercial environment.
- 6+ years of practical experience with automated software testing tools, methodologies, and frameworks.
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience with Python.
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Amazon MQ/RabbitMQ, AppConfig, and CloudWatch.
- Working knowledge of Git and experience with build, software configuration, change, and release management.
- Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Experience working in regulated industries, Atlassian and GitHub tooling, Splunk, versioned REST APIs/web services, or event streaming is complementary.
- Knowledge of modern C++ or C# and a mathematical background involving optimization, linear algebra, analytical geometry, or 3D graphics is complementary.
- Experience using AI/LLM tools such as Claude and Copilot for verification and testing is required.
