  • Design and operate platform-wide observability architecture covering metrics, logs, distributed tracing, and profiling.
  • Define incident processes, command the highest-severity SEV1/SEV2 incidents, and drive systemic root-cause fixes.
  • Design and execute chaos experiments, disaster-recovery exercises, failover validation, and recovery verification against RTO and RPO objectives.
  • Establish on-call rotations, escalation policies, operational readiness practices, and follow-the-sun handoffs.

  • Recent hands-on experience operating large-scale, fault-tolerant production systems on AWS or GCP.
  • Experience instrumenting production systems and governing service-level objectives and error budgets.
  • Experience designing and executing failure experiments or disaster-recovery exercises with real failover validation.
  • Personal experience commanding serious SEV1/SEV2 incidents and driving root cause through systemic fixes.
  • Demonstrated ownership of measurable reliability outcomes such as availability, mean time to recovery, and error-budget adherence.
  • Evidence of multi-team technical leadership through standards, reviews, coaching, and mechanisms adopted beyond one service or team.
  • Preferred experience includes cloud security posture management, runtime vulnerability detection, workload protection, AIOps and autonomous remediation, Amazon Bedrock Agent Core or equivalent frameworks, FinOps-based cost optimization, load balancing and global traffic management, and AI traffic management through LLM gateways.
