Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Grafana dashboards, alerts, configurations, and monitoring views.
- Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting for application and infrastructure requirements.
- Use Terraform to manage observability-related infrastructure and configurations as Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop Python scripts and automation for monitoring and operational tasks.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health and proactively address observability and alerting gaps.
- Troubleshoot production monitoring, alerting, and observability issues.
- Support incident investigations and perform root cause analysis for recurring monitoring or infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with Engineering, SRE, DevOps, and Platform teams to implement observability requirements.
- Maintain documentation for dashboards, alerts, configurations, automation, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to improvements in monitoring, alerting, automation, and operational reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4–7 years of experience in observability, SRE, DevOps, infrastructure engineering, production engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience creating and maintaining Grafana dashboards, configuring alerts, and administering Grafana.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Working experience with Python scripting and automation.
- Understanding of monitoring, alerting, metrics, and production support.
- Working knowledge of Linux and cloud environments such as AWS or GCP.
- Experience troubleshooting production environments and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Preferred experience with Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, OpenTelemetry, Kubernetes, Docker, ELK/OpenSearch, APM, distributed tracing, Java, Go, Helm, Ansible, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Jira, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.
- Experience working in a production support or on-call environment is preferred.
