Base Salary
$130k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build backend features end to end, including API design, business logic, and integrations with external systems and workflows.
- Improve backend latency, throughput, fault tolerance, maintainability, migrations, documentation, and testing.
- Design PostgreSQL schemas, write efficient queries, and apply indexing and performance-tuning strategies.
- Participate in monitoring, debugging, incident response, and resolving performance and reliability issues.
- Build and modify React and Next.js frontend interfaces when needed to complete backend-owned features.
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to collect feedback and shape product features.
- Provide technical customer support alongside Client Operations.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of full-time industry experience building production web applications, focused on backend development.
- Solid TypeScript skills and experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.
- Working knowledge of React sufficient to build and modify feature interfaces.
- Understanding of backend maintainability, refactoring, and technical debt management.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving startup environment, take ownership of features, and drive them forward.
- Comfort collaborating across teams and participating in technical discussions and design reviews in English.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with Prisma, Next.js, GraphQL, AWS, Docker, Vitest, Playwright, Cucumber, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch, Sentry, AI-related features, or regulated industries.
