Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, and validate critical embedded and cloud-edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs.
- Analyze user needs, software requirements, and constraints to design sophisticated software solutions.
- Design and implement software subsystems for complex, large-scale products and systems.
- Lead software design, coding, testing, code reviews, regression testing, issue triage, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, test, architecture, and other engineering teams on system-level solutions.
- Write complex technical documentation and review documentation produced by junior engineers.
- Provide supervision and technical guidance to other team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 6+ years of software engineering or related experience; or a master's degree plus 5+ years; or a PhD plus 4+ years.
- At least 3 years of work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in a relevant field and 12+ years of software engineering or related experience.
- Preferred experience includes 3+ years with database management software, 3+ years with APIs, 2+ years in a technical leadership role, and 1+ year with Git, Perforce, or another source code management system.
- Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, solve complex problems, communicate technical information, and guide other engineers.
