Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, optimization, and scaling of hardware-agnostic residential gateway firmware.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and establish embedded development best practices.
- Build Python-based automated testing and unit-testing frameworks for system components, APIs, and firmware reliability.
- Profile CPU and memory performance, eliminate leaks, resolve race conditions, and reduce bottlenecks using perf, Valgrind, and kernel utilities.
- Design and optimize Linux wireless functionality and drivers for Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 using hostapd, wpa_supplicant, and iw.
- Develop high-performance embedded firmware in C and C++ across multiple gateway hardware platforms.
- Maintain SoC-independent implementations using prpl APIs across carrier-grade SoCs.
- Develop IPC services using ubus and/or iMTP.
- Design and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing, bridging, and packet-forwarding functionality.
- Implement device management and service models based on TR-181 and USP/TR-369.
- Manage containerized microservices and virtual execution environments using Docker and prpl LCM.
- Manage source code, branching strategies, and firmware release pipelines with Git.
Requirements
