Base Salary
$275k - $315k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the platform’s SOC 2, PCI, and HIPAA security and compliance posture, including controls and audit evidence.
- Design and implement protection, isolation, and governance for PII and sensitive member data across a multi-institution platform.
- Set security standards for every engineering domain and support external and customer security reviews.
- Secure agentic and conversational AI systems that authenticate members and take action in financial systems.
- Build continuous compliance automation to replace manual, point-in-time checks.
- Write code, design controls, and own difficult security and compliance problems end to end across the platform.
Requirements
- BS or BA in Computer Science is required; an MS or PhD is a strong plus.
- Senior-most individual contributor experience at Staff level with deep security and/or compliance experience in regulated or financial environments.
- Hands-on ownership of SOC 2, PCI, or HIPAA programs, including building and running controls.
- Strong experience with data security, encryption, PII handling, and tenant isolation at scale.
- Understanding of how to secure agentic, conversational, AI/ML, or LLM-based systems in production.
- Experience building compliance automation tooling or evidence pipelines.
- Extreme AI fluency, including daily use of frontier AI tools and strong first-principles problem-solving.
- Security or compliance leadership at a bank, fintech, or other heavily regulated platform is a bonus.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CISM are useful.
- Published writing, conference talks, or open-source work in security engineering or applied AI safety are bonuses.
- Must be San Francisco-based and committed to working onsite; H1B transfers are welcome.
