Base Salary
$250k - $285k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the architecture and best practices for Cortex’s platform and infrastructure layer
- Own the deployment pipeline and lead the transition to an Argo-based GitOps model
- Design and harden multi-tenant isolation, blast-radius protection, and dedicated or single-tenant deployments
- Lead database stabilization and platform work for performance, availability, and safe migrations
- Build infrastructure foundations for encryption, authentication, boundary design, data-flow design, and compliance-heavy deployments
- Set standards for observability, on-call practices, and operational readiness across engineering
- Collaborate with engineering leadership and product to turn platform capabilities into customer-facing offerings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing, operating, and scaling high-performance production systems
- Deep expertise in Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform
- Strong database proficiency, including performance, availability, and migrations at scale
- Architectural judgment at the system and cross-team level, including multi-region and scale-change planning
- Working proficiency in at least one application language, with JVM experience preferred
- Strong security mindset covering infrastructure-as-code, secrets management, least privilege, and common application security risks
- Ability to critically use and review AI output in daily engineering work
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a record of setting technical direction
- FedRAMP, FISMA, or other government/compliance deployment experience is preferred
- Experience at a hyper-growth startup is preferred
