Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define architectural direction for Azure Specialized platform services and lead design reviews across organizations.
- Serve as a technical advisor to engineering leadership and partner teams while driving engineering excellence and architectural consistency.
- Design and evolve highly available distributed cloud services for scalability, resiliency, observability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Modernize cloud platform architectures, establish reusable platform patterns, and resolve complex cross-system technical challenges.
- Drive diagnostic and troubleshooting platform strategy using telemetry, analytics, and artificial-intelligence-assisted engineering techniques.
- Improve supportability and issue resolution through data-driven operational insights.
- Lead reliability improvements by establishing service health frameworks, Service Level Objectives, operational metrics, and governance models.
- Mentor engineers and strengthen technical leadership, productivity, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor's degree and 12+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience in the networking and compute field.
Benefits
- Typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800-$274,800 per year, with different ranges for specified San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan locations.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
