Base Salary
$176k - $308k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write highly scalable software using concurrency and memory-utilization best practices.
- Develop data management strategies focused on scalability, efficiency, security, and lifecycle stewardship.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data-related initiatives.
- Investigate data problems including data loss detection and recovery.
- Monitor and optimize data performance and implement improvements.
- Work with distributed storage systems and Kubernetes-based deployments.
- Use AI-assisted development tools with appropriate guardrails and sound engineering judgment.
- Promote data best practices, security standards, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with a master's degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Java, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proficiency with concurrency and parallel programming concepts.
- Working knowledge of databases, data modeling, data storage technologies, cloud-based systems, and distributed systems.
- Strong relational database experience handling large amounts of data.
- Working knowledge of distributed storage systems such as S3 and Apache Iceberg.
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and hands-on Kubernetes service deployment experience is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform is preferred.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript is beneficial.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools and related guardrails or processes is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
