Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java and Spring Boot microservices and Kafka-based event-driven architectures for order-management workflows.
- Translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical designs, executable stories, and production-ready code.
- Build automated test suites and solutions using relational and NoSQL databases to support data consistency and scalability.
- Implement observability, monitor and optimize production systems, troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve reliability and resiliency.
- Automate and simplify development, testing, deployment, and operational processes.
- Partner with product, architecture, and engineering teams on complex technical solutions aligned with architecture standards.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, onboarding, and engineering standards.
- Evaluate software, tools, and technologies and recommend solutions based on technical and business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement.
- At least 5 years of software development or related experience, including hands-on backend development with Java and Spring Boot.
- At least 4 years of experience in frontend technologies, middleware, database technologies, or DevOps, plus experience designing and supporting microservices, APIs, and Kafka-based event-driven systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, automated unit, integration, or behavior-driven testing, source control, and modern software development practices.
- At least 4 years of experience implementing solutions through the software development life cycle using iterative Agile development.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cucumber, JUnit, Mockito, Bitbucket, Maven, or Gradle.
- Preferred experience includes ITIL, defect or incident tracking software, web services, application and integration middleware, technical requirements, high-level design, technical documentation, business systems, source-code control, CI/CD pipelines, and observability technologies.
