Base Salary
$94k - $179k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, test, and install complex software solutions.
- Build and modernize scalable Java APIs and event-driven applications supporting member and customer data platforms.
- Investigate and resolve complex application, system, and production issues using troubleshooting techniques.
- Conduct systems analysis and recommend operational, policy, and procedure improvements.
- Participate in design reviews and apply key system design principles.
- Review teammates’ code and mentor junior engineers, with potential to mentor peers.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with applicable risk and compliance policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant education and/or experience.
- At least four years of professional software development experience using Java.
- At least three years of experience developing REST-based services with a strong emphasis on API development.
- Experience building APIs with Spring Boot.
- Experience with event-driven and messaging frameworks such as Kafka.
- Experience implementing container-based APIs using OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Experience working on Agile teams using sprint-based development cycles.
- Preferred qualifications include financial services, insurance, banking, or other regulated-industry experience; cloud-native application development and modernization experience; mentoring experience; JavaScript and modern front-end development knowledge; and US military or military-spouse/domestic-partner experience.
