Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software installation and deployment solutions for Windows, Linux, and containerized environments.
- Use Windows Installer, InstallShield, C#, C++, PowerShell, and Bash to develop installation tools, automation, and scripts.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, code review, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Develop automated tests and validation processes to improve installation quality and prevent regressions.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, testing, code review, troubleshooting, refactoring, and documentation while validating generated solutions.
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes, version control systems, automated pipelines, and SQL and NoSQL database installation and configuration requirements.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, architects, and other teams to define installation and deployment requirements, designs, and strategies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex installation and deployment issues through root-cause analysis and sustainable fixes.
- Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of professional software development experience in software installation, deployment, build, or related technologies.
- Strong proficiency in C# and/or C++, with experience using PowerShell and Bash for scripting and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, upgrade, and deployment concepts.
- Experience with Windows Installer, InstallShield, or comparable software installation and packaging technologies.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, software design patterns, software engineering principles, and maintainable development practices.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, automated testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating AI-generated code and recommendations.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with build automation, automated deployment practices, and version control systems such as Git and Perforce.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL database technologies and their installation and configuration requirements.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
- Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
