Responsibilities
- Build AI tooling and agents to monitor, forecast, and auto-resolve AWS, AI, and GPU inference cost issues.
- Integrate cost guardrails into the SDLC and CI/CD pipelines to detect overruns at commit, build, and deployment time.
- Develop anomaly detection, root-cause attribution, budget enforcement, right-sizing, and policy-check automation.
- Instrument AWS workloads and APIs, model token and inference economics, and create reusable cost-management tooling.
- Extend cost attribution and executive reporting so spending maps to teams and business outcomes.
- Embed cost tooling across engineering organizations and collaborate with FinOps and platform teams on centralized controls.
- Lead the technical workstream by shaping the roadmap, sequencing work, driving cross-team execution, and aligning stakeholders and executives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems, internal tooling, or platforms.
- Expert proficiency in at least one modern tooling or automation language, such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Deep hands-on AWS experience, including Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Report, Budgets, IAM, Lambda, and tagging strategy.
- Experience building automation and data pipelines and integrating tooling into development workflows and pipelines.
- Practical experience integrating or building with LLMs or AI agents and understanding token and inference cost drivers.
- Strong technical project-management instincts and the ability to drive cross-team work and communicate with engineers and executives.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: enterprise software architecture experience; AI and GPU inference cost optimization; agentic frameworks and multi-agent pipelines; AWS Bedrock, Service Control Policies, and centralized budget or gateway enforcement; Terraform or CloudFormation; ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes; and large-scale multi-account AWS environments.
