Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy and document.
- Improve automated test capability with design and code contributions.
- Perform automated and manual testing of Ubuntu on various hardware.
- Suggest solutions to identified product problems.
- Collaborate with project teams for consistent execution.
- Identify QA process bottlenecks and suggest improvements.
- Oversee continuous improvement projects.
- Collect quality data.
- Establish proactive measures to improve quality and reliability.
- Prepare time estimates and schedules for testing activities.
- Identify, isolate, and document bugs in the database.
- Work with development teams to build efficient automated testing.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across time zones.
- Triage test reports and customer bugs.
Requirements
- Experience with the Linux desktop and related technologies; Ubuntu experience is a plus.
- Solid grasp of commercial Software QA practices and integration into Linux Community standards.
- Experience with common scripting languages, including Shell script, Python, or JavaScript.
- Comfortable with online communication and collaboration tools.
- Excellent logic, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
- Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and achieve high effectiveness.
