Responsibilities
- Design and own automated test frameworks for backend services, APIs, and user-facing applications.
- Develop automated functional, integration, performance, and load testing capabilities.
- Build testing tools and infrastructure and identify weaknesses in existing test coverage.
- Collaborate with engineering, research, trading, and operations teams to define quality requirements.
- Validate correctness, reliability, and performance under high-throughput and low-latency conditions.
- Participate in architecture and system-design discussions to improve testability.
- Promote shift-left testing and contribute to automated-testing standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Require 5+ years of experience in QA automation, SDET, or software test engineering.
- Demonstrable experience designing and building an automation framework from scratch, including its architecture and technical decisions.
- Strong programming ability in at least one of Python, TypeScript, Go, or C++.
- Experience building test frameworks, tooling, and infrastructure rather than only writing test scripts.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design, and automation architecture.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Previous experience in trading, fintech, or financial technology, ideally with systematic trading or complex data-intensive systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with software engineers and research teams.
- Nice-to-have experience with Playwright, Pytest, k6, Locust, low-latency/high-throughput systems, systematic trading, quantitative finance, crypto/Web3, AI/LLM testing, SQL or NoSQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes, streaming/data pipelines, Datadog, or Grafana.
