Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to improve Datadog’s public-facing MCP server for intelligent agents.
- Design and implement agentic tool surfaces for evaluation and production use.
- Build and maintain advanced evaluation pipelines for measuring agent performance.
- Investigate and resolve failure cases by analyzing tool output and enhancing feedback mechanisms.
- Collaborate with Applied AI and internal teams on tool integration and data access standards.
Requirements
- Experienced Staff-level engineer with a strong background in applied AI and agentic programming.
- Comfortable working in high ambiguity and fast-changing environments.
- Skilled in building evaluation frameworks for LLM agents or AI systems.
- Bonus: Experience with MCP standards and agent-compatible tooling surfaces.
- Strong systems thinking and ability to reason across multiple agents and tools.
- Passionate about pushing boundaries in agent-augmented software.
