Base Salary
$149k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive large, complex backend projects autonomously from technical design through launch.
- Address complex architecture challenges and apply architectural standards to new projects.
- Lead code reviews and documentation, including fixes for complex and high-risk bugs.
- Partner across engineering teams on company-wide initiatives spanning multiple projects.
- Transfer existing programming-language expertise to Java development.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence technical decision-makers across the organization.
- Consider customer impact when making technical decisions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and developing backend applications.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, with a preference for Computer Science.
- Senior-level experience with one or more prominent languages such as Java, Python, Kotlin, Go, or Scala.
- Hands-on experience with public cloud offerings such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Fluency in at least one database technology, including Oracle, Postgres, DynamoDB, or Cassandra.
- Experience designing and implementing well-tested, scalable, performant microservices or distributed systems.
- Practical knowledge of software development methodologies such as XP or Scrum.
- Ability to evaluate trade-offs involving correctness, robustness, performance, space, and time.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing decision-makers across an organization.
