Base Salary

$180k - $210k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-priority, cross-functional platform initiatives from architectural definition through delivery.
  • Define system interfaces, architectural boundaries, design documents, RFCs, and architecture review practices.
  • Build reusable platform templates, modules, golden paths, and self-service capabilities that improve developer productivity.
  • Implement automation, including agentic and AI-enabled workflows, to improve delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Establish API-first and platform-as-a-product practices with consistent, usable platform interfaces.
  • Improve observability, alert hygiene, incident learning, resilience, reliability, and operational toil.
  • Own production-system incident response, service restoration, root-cause learning, post-incident reviews, and prevention.
  • Mentor and coach senior and staff engineers through pairing, reviews, and system-level technical guidance.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years building, automating, and operating cloud-native platforms, infrastructure, and software delivery systems at scale.
  • Experience applying the full software development lifecycle to platform and infrastructure work as production-grade software.
  • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional technical initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • 8+ years designing and operating microservices-based systems, including API design and versioning, authentication and authorization frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in at least three areas including Kubernetes, public cloud infrastructure, CI/CD and deployment automation, infrastructure-as-code and configuration management, and production operations and reliability tooling.
  • Experience owning production systems supporting business-critical workloads, including incident response, post-incident reviews, and reliability improvements.
  • Experience implementing integration testing, contract testing, infrastructure validation, and deployment quality controls for platform capabilities.
  • Preferred experience with AWS or Azure and native tooling such as CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, IAM, and Entra ID.
  • Experience building internal platforms or self-service capabilities that improve developer experience, delivery throughput, or operational efficiency.
  • Experience with observability, incident management, performance optimization, resilience, and high-scale production environments.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare or fintech; familiarity with FHIR and HL7 is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to build alignment across distributed teams without formal authority.

  • Base salary of $180,000-$210,000 plus eligibility for a performance bonus and benefits.
