Base Salary

$127k - $141k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain frontend components and user interfaces across Compass’s transaction Forms and eSign products.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code and comprehensive tests using tools such as Cypress and Jest.
  • Improve operational metrics and monitoring and participate in on-call rotations to support platform reliability.
  • Deliver small to mid-sized components independently and collaborate with senior engineers on complex technical designs.
  • Become a subject matter expert for assigned internal components or tools and support peers.
  • Participate in code reviews, planning, design discussions, and cross-functional collaboration with product and design teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2–4 years of software engineering experience developing well-tested, high-performance applications.
  • At least two years of experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React, and Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and implementation trade-offs.
  • Strong attention to user interface design and product usability.
  • Dedication to software testing best practices and collaborative, independent execution.
  • Practical experience or strong interest in AI-assisted development tools such as ClaudeCode or GitHub Copilot.
  • Backend programming experience with Java, Golang, or Python is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud technologies, Kafka or event-driven systems, and modern CI/CD tooling is preferred.

  • Base pay range is $126,990–$141,100 annually, with potential bonuses and restricted stock units.
