Responsibilities
- Lead applications systems analysis and programming activities for new and revised application systems.
- Partner with management teams to integrate functions, identify system enhancements, and deploy products and process improvements.
- Develop high-scale, performant software platforms for data computation and processing using Python and Spark.
- Establish standards for application design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.
- Resolve complex business-process and systems problems through in-depth analysis and innovative solutions.
- Manage and implement successful projects while coordinating with technology and business stakeholders.
- Advise and coach mid-level developers and analysts and allocate work as needed.
- Assess and manage technology and business risks while supporting compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in applications development or systems analysis, including 9+ years building software and platform engineering solutions.
- Expert-level Python and Spark development experience, including pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
- Advanced knowledge of big-data technologies, Spark implementations, Hive, Trino, Pinot Cluster, and performance tuning.
- Experience building high-scale and high-performance software platforms for data computation and processing.
- Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, databases, and operating systems.
- Experience with Unix-based operating systems and writing SQL queries.
- Experience with source-code management tools such as Bitbucket and Git.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects, with demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly and communicate clearly and concisely in writing and verbally.
- Experience in banking domains such as pricing or risk is preferred.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience; a master’s degree is preferred.
