Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications.
- Use Kubernetes to deploy, scale, and manage containerized applications.
- Design and deliver Java-based microservice architectures and complex technology platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams to define, design, and ship features.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and issues in test and production environments.
- Maintain code quality, automation, and testable code including unit and regression tests.
- Help institute hosting platforms, improve technology sharing, and increase operating-cost efficiency.
- Lead complex transformational change and promote operational resilience.
- Lead and develop an effective engineering organization through collaboration, performance management, development plans, and recognition practices.
- Drive engineering culture, continuous improvement, compliance with shared OKRs, and customer experience.
- Prepare root-cause analyses for production and test-environment issues.
- Provide senior management with technology positioning and risk or comfort-level assessments.
Requirements
- Extensive strategic leadership experience with knowledge of the financial services industry and global marketplace.
- Broad understanding of systems, technology theories, and practices relevant to complex organizations.
- Subject matter expertise in Kubernetes and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong critical-thinking, creativity, and innovation skills for complex strategic issues.
- Demonstrated successful management and delivery of complex transformational change across regional and global contexts.
- Experience operating effectively through disruptive change with resilience and adaptability.
- Experience designing solutions for technical platforms within a complex industry.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java-based microservice architectures.
- Experience with Agile development frameworks and familiarity with Agile tools.
- Proven track record of driving continuous improvement.
- Hands-on development experience and willingness to embed temporarily in delivery teams.
- Ability to write testable and maintainable code, including unit and regression tests.
- In-depth understanding of the Kubernetes ecosystem and hands-on container-orchestration experience.
- Familiarity with Node.js and Go is an added advantage.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
