Base Salary
$166k - $269k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own an AI opportunity portfolio across a complete business domain, including workflow mapping, opportunity sizing, prioritization, and roadmap decisions.
- Build high-risk or technically demanding agentic and AI-powered solutions from prototype through production, adoption, and measured impact.
- Extract reusable connectors, evaluation harnesses, workflow patterns, and other assets from successful builds.
- Define success metrics before development and report cumulative portfolio value to domain leadership.
- Design agents with traces, evaluations, and human-in-the-loop gates that support evidence-based increases in autonomy.
- Use Claude, OpenAI, and the company’s orchestration platform as daily tools and inform platform choices.
- Build production-grade applications around AI systems with attention to frontend, APIs, state, latency, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Earn trust with function leaders, secure sponsorship, manage competing priorities, and maintain stakeholder engagement.
- Review designs and code, unblock engineers, interview candidates, and mentor senior and mid-level builders.
Requirements
- Proven experience owning a business domain, program, or product area and choosing its roadmap rather than only executing assigned work.
- Experience deploying multiple agentic or AI-powered solutions to real users in more than one context.
- Daily fluency with Claude, OpenAI, or comparable models, along with informed opinions about frameworks, evaluations, orchestration, and tooling.
- Ability to translate strategic business problems into scoped, sequenced, working software while embedded with non-technical teams.
- Strong application engineering skills, including hands-on production application development and preferably full-stack experience across frontend and backend systems.
- Ability to architect and independently build agent systems and make sound build-versus-reuse decisions in design reviews with principal-level engineers.
- Track record of measuring business outcomes and taking accountability for portfolio-level value.
- Track record of improving other engineers through reviews, mentorship, reusable patterns, or tooling.
- Strong communication skills across operators, engineers, executives, and skeptical stakeholders.
- Active commitment to learning and evaluating new AI models, tools, and techniques.
