Base Salary
$200k - $311k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and hands-on delivery of critical compute, ML infrastructure, serverless, security, and custom silicon systems.
- Drive end-to-end system design from hardware interfaces through customer-facing APIs while balancing latency, security, reliability, performance, and cost.
- Lead cross-team initiatives across multiple AWS organizations and deliver cohesive large-scale systems.
- Author and champion technical vision documents, influence product roadmaps, and represent the organization in executive architectural reviews.
- Make hardware-software boundary decisions with broad customer and infrastructure impact.
- Mentor senior engineers and Principal Engineers through design reviews, code reviews, promotion assessments, and hands-on technical leadership.
- Establish and continuously improve operational standards and technical excellence.
- Set multi-year engineering direction, align technology investments across compute, AI/ML, serverless, and silicon programs, and influence VP/SVP-level strategy.
Requirements
- 10+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Experience owning technical architecture, end-to-end delivery, and partnerships with senior leadership.
- Track record of leading multiple concurrent technical initiatives and driving durable decisions across organizational boundaries.
- 15–25+ years of deep hands-on technical expertise in complex distributed systems is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes large-scale systems programming, virtualization, operating systems, performance engineering, and hardware-software co-design.
- Familiarity with firmware, PCI, kernels, accelerator integration, and systems with demanding latency, availability, and security constraints is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to develop Principal Engineers and senior technical talent and influence VP/SVP-level technical and business strategy is preferred.
