Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Architect, build, and maintain high-traffic, business-critical backend services focused on reliability, low latency, and data security.
- Lead technical decisions across service boundaries, domain modeling, data persistence, and deployment pipelines.
- Identify performance bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and design robust distributed workflows.
- Own initiatives end-to-end from technical RFCs and system design through deployment, observability, and post-launch stability.
- Conduct code reviews, establish testing practices, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- Extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining production applications with modern PHP 8.x.
- Familiarity or willingness to work with Go or Node.js/TypeScript.
- Proven experience designing scalable RESTful APIs, clean domain models, and microservice or modular architectures.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, including indexing, schema optimization, and caching strategies such as Redis.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects from concept to deployment and make trade-offs among speed, scalability, and technical debt.
- Strong automated testing experience across unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, along with CI/CD pipelines and maintainable documentation.
- Preferred experience scaling platforms handling millions of high-concurrency requests or large-scale automated data removal pipelines.
- Preferred understanding of observability practices including distributed tracing, structured logging, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Preferred experience with cloud-native infrastructure including AWS and Kubernetes.
