Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for payments and financial workflows.
- Contribute to event-driven systems using messaging and streaming technologies.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver practical, high-quality solutions.
- Support cloud deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production operations.
- Improve system reliability, performance, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and team discussions.
- Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions, with greater ownership for senior candidates.
- Explore and adopt technologies and practices that add value.
- Help architect unified AI infrastructure or build products on top of it, depending on squad assignment.
Requirements
- Professional experience building backend systems using Scala, Java, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of software design, APIs, distributed systems, SQL, and database design.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and with designing or operating large-scale, highly available systems.
- Experience or interest in event-driven architecture and messaging systems such as Kafka.
- Ability to debug and improve production systems, make architectural tradeoffs, drive solutions, and contribute to technical design.
- Ability to lead technical design and mentor other engineers for senior-level scope.
- Professional working proficiency in English and ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, decision-making, or innovation.
- Nice-to-have experience with Scala or functional programming, Kafka or similar messaging systems, Kubernetes, containerized environments, React, TypeScript, fintech, payments, or security-sensitive systems.
