
Federal Back-End Engineer
Horizon3 AIResponsibilities
- Develop core product features using ETL and GraphQL for data processing and retrieval
- Design and implement backend GraphQL APIs for product data interactions
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines for efficient data processing and analytics
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to present data clearly and improve user experience
- Contribute to user-facing product launches, platform enhancements, and stability
- Own and manage concurrent initiatives while prioritizing effectively
- Create technical documentation and independently or collaboratively implement solutions
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- At least 7 years of professional software engineering experience using modern object-oriented or functional languages
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience building and troubleshooting federally compliant systems such as FedRAMP, IL4/5/6, and classified workloads
- Expert proficiency in SQL
- Current security clearance or ability to gain and maintain a TS-level clearance
- Experience with relational and graph database architectures, including PostgreSQL and Neo4j, is preferred
- Experience building GraphQL backends is preferred
- Experience managing production infrastructure and building platform capabilities for internal teams is preferred
- Experience using AI-enabled development tools is preferred
- Ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers and collaborate effectively with designers, developers, and product managers
