Responsibilities
- Perform SoC board bring-up, third-party API integration, Roku OS feature development, code maintenance, and scalable solutions for new factory introductions.
- Architect software abstraction layers that bridge hardware and software and enable modular, portable integration across multiple platforms.
- Develop high-performance and reliable C/C++ software and supporting platform-integration tools for Linux-based consumer electronics.
- Own automated QA testing from requirements analysis and test design through execution on real devices, failure analysis, and debugging of factory test issues.
- Support QA and channel certification teams across the end-to-end product development and release lifecycle.
- Use AI coding tools and agents to accelerate development, improve quality, create QA tools, and validate generated results.
Requirements
- Smart TV software roles require 5+ years of relevant software or firmware development experience.
- Platform Portability requires 5+ years of Linux-based consumer electronics development experience.
- Automation QA requires 3+ years of Python automation testing experience and experience with Pytest, unittest, BDD, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in C or C++ is required for the software engineering roles, with modern C++ experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel development and debugging tools, embedded Linux, API design, cross-platform portable code, SoC board bring-up, third-party API integration, or factory production processes is required depending on the role.
- Automation candidates should have embedded or connected-systems testing experience, CI/CD integration experience, and flaky-test debugging experience.
- Candidates must have practical experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Codex, including validating results on real hardware.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information engineering, electrical engineering, or electronics engineering is required.
