Base Salary
$106k - $155k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own reliability for the Network as a Service platform and serve as a subject matter expert for its automation applications, services, and hosting environments.
- Build and maintain observability systems, including service instrumentation, metrics, dashboards, visualizations, and proactive alerting.
- Define and tune SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets while advocating for resilient and fault-tolerant architecture.
- Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, conduct blameless postmortems and root cause analysis, and complete follow-up actions.
- Automate deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and configuration using infrastructure as code.
- Develop utilities and apply AI-assisted and agentic workflows to reduce operational toil and improve deployment, administration, support, and investigation.
- Collaborate with architecture, engineering, operations, and systems development teams to support and scale NaaS applications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and maintain clear process and architecture documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, and/or networking, with 5+ years of related experience required.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, networking, and identity services.
- Strong Terraform, Ansible, and Python automation and infrastructure-as-code skills.
- Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, Grafana, and Prometheus, including dashboard and alert creation.
- Demonstrated incident management and blameless postmortem experience.
- Comfort using AI-assisted development and agentic tools in daily engineering work.
- Understanding of Internet, Ethernet, IPVPN, Edge Compute, and Optical transport technologies.
- Ability to work autonomously, communicate clearly, listen effectively, and escalate appropriately.
- Preferred qualifications include multi-cloud experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP; asynchronous programming and distributed systems knowledge; zero-downtime deployment and high-availability or multi-region architecture experience; source control and CI/CD experience at scale; and operational agentic workflow experience.
