Base Salary
$165k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship custom internal tools, agents, and workflows for engineering, research, autonomy, simulation, ML training, and business teams.
- Integrate and extend AI coding assistants, agents, and other third-party AI tools for Waabi’s workflows.
- Evaluate AI tools, models, and agent frameworks through structured pilots and make build-versus-buy recommendations.
- Partner with engineers, researchers, and business stakeholders to understand workflows, prototype solutions, and iterate based on usage.
- Build observability for AI tooling, including usage, adoption, cost, and quality tracking.
- Implement responsible-AI guardrails in partnership with Security, Legal, IT, and Infrastructure.
- Drive adoption through documentation, enablement, office hours, and hands-on support.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience and a record of shipping tools, platforms, or products used by large user bases.
- Hands-on familiarity with AI coding tools and agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Codex, plus experience shipping AI-powered products, agents, or workflows.
- Experience with prompt engineering, evaluations, tool use, and integrating LLMs into production systems.
- Strong proficiency in Python or another common programming language and comfort with modern build systems and developer infrastructure.
- Strong product judgment, communication skills, autonomy, and ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Passion for self-driving technologies, frontier AI, and applying AI to increase team productivity.
- Preferred experience in developer productivity, platform engineering, AI tooling, ML, robotics, autonomous-systems infrastructure, or large monorepos.
- Preferred experience translating non-engineering workflows into technical solutions and building AI automation for business functions.
- Preferred experience deploying AI systems in security- and IP-sensitive environments or contributing to open-source AI tooling, agent frameworks, or developer tools.
