Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and messaging integrations using Kafka and IBM MQ.
  • Own features end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, support, documentation, and code reviews.
  • Develop JPA/Hibernate data layers and work with Oracle SQL, schema design, transactions, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
  • Implement Angular and TypeScript UI features with responsive design, accessibility, secure session handling, and API integrations.
  • Create and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, artifact management, environment promotion, SonarQube configuration, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Containerize and deploy cloud-based services while monitoring reliability, performance, cost, logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards.
  • Write unit, integration, component, and end-to-end tests and maintain strong automated coverage.
  • Apply secure coding practices including Spring Security, input validation, OWASP Top 10 protections, TLS, secrets management, OAuth/OIDC, XSS/CSRF protection, and CSP.
  • Use AI tools such as Cursor and Windsurf to accelerate coding, reviews, and planning.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and DevOps teams on architecture, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Five years of industry experience; finance industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong Java 17 and Spring Boot 3.5 experience, including Spring Web, Spring Data/JPA/Hibernate, and Spring Security.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL, database schema design, transactions, indexing, stored procedures, and JPA/Hibernate performance tuning.
  • Experience with Angular, TypeScript, component architecture, routing, forms, RxJS, and NgRx or similar state-management tools.
  • Experience with Maven or Gradle, Git or GitLab, CI/CD pipeline creation, artifact management, environment promotion, and SonarQube.
  • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine/Karma, Jest, Testing Library, Cypress, integration testing, and Testcontainers.
  • Experience containerizing and deploying cloud-based services and monitoring performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture, API versioning, fault tolerance, resiliency patterns, Kafka, IBM MQ, and secure application development.
  • Advanced degree, AG Grid/AG Charts/Highcharts, Node.js/npm, Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, semantic HTML5, SCSS/CSS, Flexbox, and WCAG are preferred or beneficial qualifications.
