Responsibilities
- Write elegant, performant, well-tested Python backend code for new and existing product features.
- Implement bug fixes, tests, refactors, and infrastructure code across software and systems engineering.
- Define work plans, break larger features into actionable tasks, reduce technical debt, and prepare clean pull requests.
- Support peers through pair programming, code reviews, mentoring, and broader engineering initiatives.
- Contribute to the Platform roadmap and prioritization in collaboration with product and country teams.
- Clarify product requirements and help internal teams build technical knowledge of the product.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant field.
- Deep knowledge of Python and the ability to write clear, Pythonic code.
- Strong AI expertise and an AI-first mindset.
- Experience with relational databases and SQL; Boost uses PostgreSQL.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- Relevant experience in a similar role, preferably at a fast-growing startup.
- Engineering, mathematical, or scientific background, plus strong communication, collaboration, curiosity, and adaptability.
